Heston's Little Piggy went to Market

CONTINUING THE tapas theme: a Heston Blumenthal inspired morsel at the Sherry Institute's promo, Spitalfields Market. Set Braised Ham Hock with Rose Apricots and Poached Rhubarb Ribbon. Tantalising. It was unfortunately overwhelmed by the suggested collaborator: a banal, burnt, Harvey's Bristol Cream. Such a shame that an often maligned/generally misunderstood drink such as sherry had such a lacklustre liquid ambassador...Also in the frame: the Roux brothers 'Waterside Inn', Bray on Thames. This unassuming Berkshire village is home to not one, but two of the U.K.'s three, three Michelin star venues. The other is the 'Fat Duck', Blumenthal's tabernacle to molecular gastronomy. Naturally, I would love to visit them both. All things in the good time, though. For now, fellow blogger, 'Food Snob' inspired a booking at the Roux's London bastion, 'Le Gavroche' towards the end of September...
