FELICITIONS. '08 was confirmed at Covent Garden's Café des Amis with a powerfully perfumed '03.
Jouse, a Gevrey Chambertin from Domaine Marchand Grillot, who have a magically surreal web site, enhanced the deft-definition of exciting flavours assembled within a starter of Marbled Oxtail and Duck Foie Gras with Truffle and Gold Dressing, and was still sturdy enough to accompany the bleeding Charolais Beef Fillet, Sauce Chateaubriand, Gratin of Gnocchi with Truffle Infusion, which followed. Our thanks were assembled in a glittering tabletop 'Merci'...
