Lid-Off Jam

'Give me wine to wash me clean of the weather-stains of care.'
[Ralph Waldo Emerson, Transcendentalist]
FROM MONREALE, small town South of Palermo, this lubricous 'Bianco di Sicilia' '06 [£10, Natura Amore] represents a far from cutting edge blend of Catarratto, Marsala component and second most planted single variety in Italy, and companion, Inzolia. A gauche nose of lid-off continental breakfast apricot jam gives way to an undexterous palate of squashed peach, with acrimonous acidity. May well enslave Milza (sautéed spleen).

I am impressed by the stamina of the sadly faceless, no holds barred, American in London, Krysta who pens Londonelicious: a food blog. One hell of an appetite...
