Unconventional Vases

I HELD a tasting 'a Cantina Vinopolis' this evening, a fluently run Trattoria with a firm wine list. Of that uncorked, I was particularly enamoured by Conterno Fantino's Barolo. From a small plot of vines within view of the arc of the alps at Monforte d’Alba, this suprisingly contoured '02 (generally thought an abominable vintage in Piemonte) had dried rose aromas, palliated by discreet cedar and Twining's English breakfast tea palate (replete with tea like tannins).

In honour of Conterno's Nebbiolo - which I would love to meet when made supple by the passing years - here follows two unconventional rose-tinted glasses, both ABV related...
