Naively Unfortunate Name
I VENTURED to a good, but unnecessarily 'groovily loud' bar/restaurant with a naively unfortunate name yesterday evening - 'Bush Bar', Shepherd's Bush. The main course of pastry-crisp confit of goose with swamp of spinach was particularly adeptly cooked although the jar-apple sauce underwhelmed. Delta Vineyard's Marlborough Pinot Noir '05 delivered a touch too much cream, but had an intriguing forest-twig feel which landed the goose. A scraggy looking J.G. Ballard (who went to my school; obviously different years) became rather animated towards the waiter in the cubby-hole opposite.
