Pass the Alectoris Rufa

THIS WINE is as poised as a seesaw ridden by identical twins. Easy going, but not frivolous; long-lived but never lingering, cherry scented, but not confected. It tamed a red-legged partridge (supposedly inferor to the grey but flavoursome and slightly gamon in texture) wearing a close-fitting flitch of maple back, a sprinkle of morels atop and small new English potatoes (the size of thumbs) tinged with parsley.
A present from my mother, the vinous proferring harks from Ile de Ré, an island 2.9km bridge-linked to La Rochelle.
